The article reveals the features of the information culture of a future music teacher, its procedural aspects are noted. Attention is paid to the information activities of future professionals, which forms the ability to critically comprehend their own awareness of music and pedagogical activities on the basis of creative refl ection. It is noted that the key element of the information culture of a music teacher is musical information, the content of which includes the actual sound information and a variety of information about it. It is proved that musical information in the educational process is both a source of musical and pedagogical activities and a means of musical and aesthetic development. It is noted that a musical work as sound information has its own characteristics and requires consideration of the emotional nature of musical art, on which the perception and awareness of musical information depends. Emphasis is placed on the importance of decoding a piece of music, knowledge of the context of music, understanding its aesthetic component, which will achieve professionally correct reading of musical thought in the artistic fl ow of musical information. The creative potential of interpretation of musical information in the communicative-cognitive aspect is emphasized. It was found out that the active introduction of information technology in work with students – multimedia teaching aids, various music programs, will ensure the success of the formation of information culture of future music teachers.
