Formation of professional competence in the prospective teachers in the process of training for project activities

Abstract

The article is devoted to the theoretical analysis of the problem and experience of teaching in higher education teacher training institutes and considers effective ways to form the professional competence of future teachers in preparation for project activities. Therefore, the results of scientific research of domestic and foreign scientists are analyzed within the above-mentioned direction. In addition, the study gives characteristics to the main prerequisites for the implementation of project activities in the field of education: the complex nature of the educational project; coverage of content about various problems, tasks, actions aimed at forming the professional competence of future teachers; assimilation of the wide range of humanitarian knowledge; and creation of temporary teams. The findings suggest that implementation of activity and competence approaches in solving the problem of preparation for project activities is necessary. The research proves the importance of implementing the discipline «Management of educational projects» in the process of training future teachers as it is focused on formation of skills of developing the projects, their systematic and conscious use in teaching.

The content of the discipline is analyzed, which involves mastering a wide range of topics, in particular, the relevance of the problem of development and management of educational projects; the essence of the concepts of «project» and «educational project management»; historical and genetic sources of the project; specifics of educational project management; main stages of development and management of educational projects, project organization of the educational process and management of higher education institutions; levels and objects of educational process design; the specifics of the educational project in higher education, etc. Specific examples of development and implementation of educational projects by undergraduates of Ivan Franko State University are given. It is proved that educational projects of various directions can be considered as an innovative form of organization of educational environment that meets modern social needs, determined by the complex nature of the temporary team of specialists in terms of active interaction with the environment.
