The article deals with the problems of the development of artistic perception of the individual. Attention is focused on the peculiarities of the artistic perception of works of various types of art by younger schoolchildren. The author substantiates the opinion about the importance of art as a means of aesthetic education of the younger generation. It has been proven that artistic and creative perception is characterized by general patterns of perception as a reflection of objects and phenomena in the aggregate of all their properties and parts under direct influence on the senses. The most important features of perception - sensory immediacy, integrity, awareness, "experiencing the object" - are indispensable in artistic perception.
The purpose of the article is to substantiate the psychological features of creative perception of works of various types of art by younger schoolchildren. Practice proves that the involvement of younger schoolchildren in the aesthetic perception of works of various types of art has its own specificity, determined by the age characteristics of children. This should be remembered, since younger students are not yet able to focus voluntary attention on the subject. They lack the skills of evaluation (they do not know how to analyze a work of art). This should be compensated by the correct method of organizing the perception of an artistic work. The author proposed methodical models for schoolchildren's acquaintance with works of various types of art. It is noted that, taking into account the artistic genre of the work, the age-specific features of perception by students of a certain age, it is important to choose those types of work on the work that would help to understand what was seen, to discover, to assimilate the objects and phenomena of the picture in the order and completeness, as the author sought, to look at things through his eyes, to think with his thoughts, to experience together with him, i.e., to enable schoolchildren to understand the author's position and, at the same time, to reveal their own emotional and aesthetic response to the image.
The author concluded that the perception of works of art is an important aspect of art education of elementary school students of general secondary education institutions. Through artistic images, children enrich their feelings, emotions, learn about the diversity of the surrounding world. At the same time, their further creative and emotional development takes place. The correct processing of a work of art contributes to the unity of the moral, mental, and aesthetic education of students. And that is why it is so important for children to perceive works of art through active aesthetic activity.
