The article analyzes an important pedagogical problem related to the moral responsibility of the teacher. The author substantiates the process of actualization of the mentioned phenomenon in modern pedagogical practice, and proves that the moral and legal responsibility of the teacher is realized in both perspective and retrospective aspects. The perspective aspect is characterized by a high level of personal awareness of the modern and future development of the nation and humanity, purposeful, free human activity. Educator of the educational institution, it is carried out in creative mastery of knowledge, self-perfection, self-realization of the forces and abilities. The study is based on the three-dimensional interconnection of the following components: consciousness and self-awareness, relationships and activities. The level of consciousness and self-consciousness characterizes the real manifestation of the moral and legal responsibility of the teacher, and, conversely, the high level of moral and legal responsibility attests to the existence of the consciousness and consciousness of the teacher. It is emphasized that moral and legal relations in the pedagogical environment are built on two basic principles: subordination (vertical) and coordination (horizontal). A high level of moral and legal responsibility is the right way to free, creative activity of the teacher's personality.
