Abstract

The article contains the results of a theoretical and methodological study of the role behavior in connection with personality socialization. The study and establishment of adequate role-playing behavior of young people, the assimilation and fulfillment of social roles, the introduction of effective psychological and pedagogical tools for the formation of role-playing behavior among student youth - all this means contributing to the achievement of the main goal of the higher education institution, namely, the maximum development of students' adaptive capabilities. An analysis of the psychological and pedagogical literature indicates that role-based behavior is the practical fulfillment of social roles, the real actions of people, mediated by the requirements and expectations of others, the personality traits of a person, his ideas about people around him and about himself. It is important to take into account its relations with such concepts: social role, personality status, structure of role behavior. A “social role” is a way of a person‟s behavior in accordance with accepted standards, depending on his status or position in society, in the system of interpersonal relations. A role, as a behavioral characteristic of a person, reflects the dynamic aspect of an individual‟s social status, and understanding of roles is a condition for his socialization (in particular, social adaptation) and personal growth. The concept of “status” defines the individual‟s place in the system of interpersonal relations in a group or society, his rights, duties and privileges. At the same time, it is also an indicator of recognition by a group or society of the significance of a person. Studying the essence of the problem posed and finding possible ways to solve it in terms of promoting effective socialization of student youth helped to clarify indicators of role-based behavior: the success of conventional roles in accordance with the standard; the nature of the roles adoption (ritual, personally accepted, zero), orientation of role behavior (oriented toward solving a problem, supporting relationships in a group, toward oneself), the level of formation of role behavior structural components (meaningful, emotionally motivational, behavioral proper). Accordingly, the role-based behavior of a person largely depends on how he or she evaluates, compares with his / her “I” the role, on his / her will, desires, motives, abilities, interests. At the same time, the peculiarities of role behavior affect the personal properties of individuals, that means that the role becomes a personal characteristic of the individual, provided that it is accepted by the individual, when a person feels a role identity types as follows: gender, group, professional, linguistic.
