In the context of globalization and European integration processes the general and specific tendencies of pedagogical education in Ukraine are substantiated, which are traced in the experience of Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State University. The general tendencies include: the tendency to systematize pedagogical knowledge, which is reflected in the development of theoretical and methodological foundations for the development of pedagogical education in Ukraine; conceptualization of acquired professional and pedagogical knowledge; tendencies towards standardization and continuing education. The general tendencies are reflected in the conducted researches of university scientists: to systematization and synthesis of pedagogical knowledge, differentiation of pedagogical preparation of future teachers with different categories of gifted students, pedagogization of master's training of future specialists, to innovative activity, integral teaching methods of teaching teaching; tendency towards international scientific cooperation. On the basis of the revealed tendencies in the field of pedagogical education, the need for highly qualified teachers, further enhancement of their social status and professional competence are projected. The revealed trends testify to the necessity of forecasting the needs of modern society for highly qualified competitive teachers, further enhancing the social status of the teacher, since the future of the state depends on his personal and professional qualities. Differentiated training of teachers for different categories of children and young people, andragic teachers for adult education should be provided.
