УДК 376-056.45 The problem of development of artistic talent in primary school children in out-of-school educational institutions

Abstract

The article is devoted to the topical problem of determining the role of out-of-school education in the identifi cation and development of giftedness, namely the artistic giftedness of pupils. In the course of the research the pedagogical and psychological papers on the problem of research was analysed in order to clarify the meaning of the concepts «giftedness», «artistic giftedness». The essence of these concepts is revealed. Admittedly, identifying talent is an extremely diffi cult task, and identifying potential artistic talent, and even children’s talent, is doubly diffi cult. Modern psychology, objectively assessing its capabilities and the nature of this phenomenon, takes a reasonable position: refuses to make a fi nal verdict, even having seemingly indisputable evidence of giftedness in a child, carefully limiting the characteristic – «a child with signs of giftedness». This characteristic is the result of understanding the complexity and ultimate incomprehensibility of this phenomenon, which is an integrative personality formation and not static, but dynamic, changing depending on external and internal factors. Children’s artistic talent is in motion and can either gain strength, or fade, or disappear forever; it is very diffi cult to «grasp» as a constant value in order to «measure» by standard psychological tests. Artistic talent is also multifaceted, characterized by an amazing variety of forms of expression, due to the peculiarities of integration and originality of its components in their quantitative and qualitative manifestation. The main features of children of primary school age are substantiated, the specifi cs of teachers’ work with them are revealed.
