УДК 378:4 Democratization of the educational process

Abstract

The article considers the issue of introduction of democratic processes in the system of higher education. The peculiarities of the development of democratic processes in the domestic system of higher education have been studied. The directions of democratization of education and the main factors of democratization at the level of management of the education sector and a separate institution of higher education are determined. It is proved that the democratization of education is manifested through the penetration of the principles of democracy into all components of the education system - the structure of educational institutions, which is intensively modernized, management, content and educational process, personnel policy, control and more. The preconditions for the effective implementation of democracy are determined: the expansion of the autonomy of higher education institutions, the democratization of the legal framework, the lack of ideology of education, the formation of educational programs on a competency basis. The necessity of updating educational programs taking into account modern needs of integration into the world educational space is considered. The importance of involving employers in the creation of new generation higher education standards and the formation of educational programs is noted. The idea of ​​student-centered learning, the principles of which are self-organization, flexibility, self-learning, analysis and implementation of innovations, non-standard creative thinking is substantiated. The necessity of democratization of higher education in Ukraine in order to improve the quality of educational services, provide the economy with highly professional specialists, competitiveness of higher education institutions and integration of national higher education into the single world educational space is proved.
