The article is devoted to the problem of using STEM approaches in education. In addition to an excursion into the history of the introduction of this acronym into the educational process, the author singles out its components that should be paid attention to during its introduction into pedagogical practice. This article, in particular, considers the research component of STEM.
The article examines the applications of academic knowledge in the course of high-level scientific research in physics. Students may be able to revise the laws of physics. The author has respect for those who have the right to completely change the placement of studies in natural subjects and the choice of a related profession.
It means that people cannot achieve complete memorization of everything known at this time of science. For this professional activity, it is enough to acquire basic knowledge. It is also necessary to learn the skills of investigating events and processes on your own.
The author analyzes the problem and makes proposals for its solution on the basis of his own scientific research and pedagogical practice. This is facilitated by his constant participation in international scientific conferences, as well as the systematic holding of webinars on the implementation of STEM for teachers in some European countries, which are part of his author's courses on this issue.
