Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of using STEM approaches in education. In particular, it considers the engineering component of STEM.

The author's research is devoted to the study of the cognitive mechanism of human (child) creativity. The author not only proves the importance of the engineering component of STEM, shows its difference from polytechnic education, but also gives methodical recommendations regarding its implementation in pedagogical practice. In the author's opinion, the approach proposed by him to setting inventive tasks and monitoring the results of students' activities is valuable.

The author makes analysis of the problem and proposals for its solution based on his own pedagogical practice, advanced pedagogical experience of teachers, as well as on the basis of the results of scientific research. This is facilitated by his work in the preparation of tasks for the All-Ukrainian tournaments of young inventors and rationalizers, as well as the International competitions of young researchers and inventors «Edisons of the 21st century». Participation in international scientific conferences and the systematic holding of thematic webinars for teachers of European countries allows for the testing of proposed approaches to the introduction of STEM in pedagogical practice.
