The article reveals the essence and content of methods of organizing innovative activities of general secondary education institutions using the example of Kharkiv Lyceum № 12 of the Kharkiv City Council of the Kharkiv Region. The purpose of the article was to highlight the practical experience of organizing innovative activities of education seekers in institutions of general secondary education. In the research process, we used a set of theoretical research methods, such as: analysis, comparison, generalization of practical experience; also in the research, we relied on the advanced pedagogical experience of the pilot teachers and observation of the students' actions. Optimal methods of organizing such activities are shown (inclusion of students in research activities; use of competence-based, applied tasks that implement cross-cutting content skills; use of innovative pedagogical technologies; inclusion of students in active creative activities in lessons; use of digital educational resources in lessons). It has been proven that the active immersion of students in the process of innovative activity has a positive effect on their psycho-emotional state, the level of educational achievements and forms readiness for innovative activity in any sphere of life. During the practical activity, we found out that effective technologies in the implementation of innovative activities are «Debates» (with the help of this technology, leadership qualities of the individual are formed, promotes the development of communication skills, which will further contribute to the formation of presentation skills, the ability to conduct a reasoned discussion) and «Orientation on research» (in the process of using the specified technology, not only the readiness of students for innovative activities is formed, but also the development of research skills and creative abilities). As a conclusion, we would like to note that when choosing methods of organizing innovative activities of a general secondary education institution, one should always pay attention to specialized training in the institution, personnel potential, interaction of all participants in the educational process. After all, the organization of innovative activity is a complex and long-term process, which can lead to the desired result only with full coordination of the actions of the entire teaching staff.
