УДК 378:37.014.5 How the Law of Ukraine «On Higher Education» is being implemented

Abstract

The article publishes the results of a comprehensive study of the process of reforming the domestic system of higher education through the modernization of all its components: the network of higher educational institutions and contingents of participants in the educational process, the structure and methodology for the formation of the content of education (introduction of modern levels and stages, a list of specialties, the introduction of new standards and educational programs ) in accordance with the provisions of the Law of Ukraine «On Higher Education».

The mechanism of creating a transparent and effective system for ensuring the quality of higher education, including the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, is a new governing body in the field of higher education. Its designated role in the creation of a complete quality system, the development of the educational services market, the introduction of a healthy competition mechanism in higher education.

It is noted that the reform of the higher education system, which is carried out according to European criteria and standards, the creation and effective functioning of the quality system, the progress of Ukrainian universities in international rankings are significant steps towards the entry of domestic higher education into the European higher education area.
