The development of information technology influences the life of society, professional activity, causes changes in mass communication. As a result, we are faced with the problem of revealing the importance of media education in higher education as a whole and revealing the peculiarities of its implementation during the vocational training of future teachers in primary school.
The purpose of the article is to substantiate the methodological approaches applied at the initial stage of consideration of theoretical bases of research of the problem for development of media education of future teachers in primary school.
The methodological principles of the study determine its strategy. In the article analyzes the main methodological approaches to the problem for development of media education of future teachers in primary school. Methodological approaches such as acmeological, activity, historical-pedagogical, systemic, systemic-chronological are defined.
One of the leading methodological approaches, in view of the purpose and objectives of our research, is a system-chronological approach that enables to trace the genesis of the development of media education of future teachers in primary school in the universities of Ukraine through its reconstruction in social, cultural, scientific contexts over a period of 90 years of XX–beginning of XXI century.
Using methodological approaches allows to provide novelty research related to the problem for development of media education of future teachers in primary school.
A promising direction for further research is to substantiate the algorithm of formation of the source base for systematic and multidimensional analysis of the problem for the development of media education of future elementary school teachers in the universities of Ukraine during the 90s of the XX–beginning of the XXI century.
