Abstract

The article presents the results of historical experience of eloquence in terms of pedagogical rhetoric. It is emphasized that a compulsory component of pedagogical skills is the presence of rhetorical competence in the educational staff. It is established that the formation of rhetorical competence is impossible without comprehending the heritage of pedagogical rhetoric from the standpoint of the developmental approach to the formation of versatile educated personality by means of pedagogical eloquence. Formation and development of pedagogical rhetoric is investigated on the basis of the analysis of the works of scientists. It is generalized that the historical experience of eloquence from the point of view of pedagogical rhetoric as the basis of developmental education, which is necessary for the mental-speech development of the individual. It is emphasized that the analysis and comprehension of the rhetorical heritage is important in the system of work on the formation of rhetorical competence which substantially influences the development of one's own style of professional-rhetorical activity of the future teacher. It has been found out that throughout history many teachers worked in schools, universities whose speech was characterized by personal rhetorical features. As a consequence, future educators should explore the rhetorical legacy of these teachers, educators and the features of their rhetorical and pedagogical activities for the sake of future Ukrainian education. It is concluded that modern education and society need an educator who will have the theory and practice of constructing professional-pedagogical speech on the basis of truth, goodness and beauty, since the eloquence of the teacher is a condition for the success of his professional activity in interaction with students, colleagues and various social institutions. The prospects of research of the problem of pedagogical rhetoric development are determined.
