Today we can speak with complete confidence about the formation of the global informational process. Information technologies have become the tool for creating global thinking; people feel to be the citizens not only of their own countries, but of the whole world. New information technology-based studying methodology is actively used in various educational institutions of varied forms and levels. Among the basic features of this study mode are absence of geographical boundaries and tolerance of considerable variations in the distance between the teacher and the learner. The article deals with the problem of social-communicative competence formation in students of non-philological departments by means of information and communication technologies. The concept “Social-communicative competence” in the scientific literature, its components and the importance of its formation level for future specialists are analyzed. It`s proved that the well-formed level of social-communicative competence can influence the successful integration of a future specialist into educational and professional environment. The expediency of using information and communication technologies in foreign language classes as a motivating factor for learning is substantiated. The authors of the article have presented the adaptive technology of designing educational information with the use of information and communication technologies in the process of professional and pedagogical activity of the higher educational institution teacher at the foreign language lessons. The technology consists of three stages: the pre-communicative phase, the communicative phase and the post-communicative phase. Examples of information resources which can be used in foreign language classes to form the socio-communicative competence of non-philological students are given. It is noted that the prospect of further research in this area lies in expanding the use of ICT to form various aspects of the professional competence of future non-philological specialists in English lessons.
