УДК 374.7‒043.86 Trends in the development of adult education in Ukraine (beginning of the XXI century)

The article presents the results of a historical and pedagogical analysis of adult education development trends (early 21st century). The level and directions of implementation of the recommendations of the methodological seminar “Conceptual framework for the development of adult education: world experience, Ukrainian realities and prospects” (Kyiv, November, 2018) are considered. The content of the leading trends in the development of adult education in Ukraine in the context of integration into the European educational space, in particular the trends in European, socio-economic and socio-cultural dimensions, is considered. Specific trends in the development of adult education in Ukraine are identified: democratization of society, the creation of regional programs for the development of adult education, the spread of local initiatives to provide information and educational services to various categories of adults. The necessity of developing a comprehensive scientifically-based qualification characteristics of the andragogue profession (position) for pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical workers of institutions of formal and non-formal education is explained. The prospects for the development of adult education in Ukraine in the direction of developing the Concept and the National Program of Education throughout Life; adoption of laws, regulatory documents on adult education; carrying out systemic measures aimed at implementing state policy in the field of formal, non-formal and informal adult education.
