Preparation of future primary school teachers for the implementation of the New Ukrainian School Concept

The article deals with the issue of preparing future primary school teachers to implement the Concept of the new Ukrainian school. It is based on the analysis of the scientific sources as well as the author’s own research. It is emphasized that the modern philosophy of education in Ukraine defines new trends in education and determines the priority of humanizing education, individual approach, and students’ personal development. Reforming primary education in the context of the Concept of public policy in reforming general secondary education «New Ukrainian School» requires rethinking of the conceptual philosophical and methodological principles of training future primary school teachers. It is concluded that under the conditions of reforming the system and content of primary education in Ukraine, modern primary school teachers must be ready to meet the current requirements of professional responsibilities of a coach, facilitator, tutor, and moderator in the individual educational trajectory of a child. Such personal and professional readiness of future specialists should be ensured by institutions of higher pedagogical education by providing the study of psychological and pedagogical disciplines by students, and conducting various types of pedagogical practices. The experience of professional training of students for pedagogical activity in the new Ukrainian school by the teachers of the Municipal Institution of Higher Education «Bar Humanitarian and Pedagogical College named after Mykhailo Hrushevsky» is described; the results of modeling the personality of a modern teacher by students of specialty «Primary Education» are presented.
