УДК 378.018.43 Distance learning: challenges and prospects in the teaching Bachelors of Arts

The features of the educational process of distance learning at the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design at the present stage are revealed in the article. The aim of the article is to identify and analyze the difficulties that arise in the process of teaching professionals specialized in Art in the conditions of digital society development and new forms and methods of teaching, including e-learning. The author emphasizes the importance of using distance learning to solve the following problems: equal access to education, informatization of society, rapid updating of professional knowledge, professional development.
The novelty of the article consists in a detailed analysis of the financial benefits of distance learning for both the educational institution and the student. And the three-level model of development of IT competence of university staff is represented in the article, which contributes to better understanding of modern requirements to technical knowledge of the teachers to provide highquality education. The author of the article, as a working artist, emphasizes live communication between teacher and students for the training of future designers and painters and recognizes it as an integral attribute of professional academic training.
The article will be interesting scientists who deal with issues of innovations and new teaching methods as well as study trends in modern education.
